    203209 - Junior Wheaton Wings Academy

    The Junior Wheaton Wings Academy is for players ages 5 to 9 and introduces the game of soccer in a fun developmental environment. Students learn the skills and fundamentals of soccer through practice and game situations. Students practice twice a week with Future Pros trainers, the same coaches used by the Wheaton Wings travel teams. One practice a week focuses on skills training. The second is a "micro-league" game format.

    Junior Wheaton Wings Academy gives your child a taste of travel soccer without the yearlong commitment. A great way to receive professional training at an affordable price! We encourage concurrent participation in the Wheaton Park District House League to help your child improve his/her soccer skills. (MG)

    203391 - Basics HS Outdoor Rugby


    This program is designed to introduce non-rugby experienced athletes and to refresh experienced players to the skills, training, philosophy and strategy necessary to participate in this sport. It is intended to build on the skills and training of the indoor class (103390-01) given in the preseason. Training sessions are conducted by experienced players and coaches from the Chicago Area Rugby Football Union as well as from certified coaches from Rugby Illinois premier youth rugby organization in our state. This skills and drills program acclimates those new to the game and tunes-up returning players for outdoor competition as part of the Warthog Rugby Program. Learn the positions, the game, passing techniques, rucking and mauling and the all-important ‘scrum’. (NC)

    In addition to signing up for this Wheaton Park District program, participants must also be registered with USArugby.org as a member of the “Warthog Rugby Football Club” in order to attend practices.

    A high-energy, upbeat workout with classic fighting sets, kick and punch standing bags, and free sparring, with rigorous controls on contact. Chinese stretching and strengthening exercises will increase range of motion and relaxation. Start with empty hand forms and add weapons training as you master them.
